About

Owner & Lead Artist
Jesi Hastey
With over two decades of experience, Jesi Hastey built The Bitter End on a single premise: tattooing should feel personal. Her journey began on the Big Island of Hawai'i, where she immersed herself in shop culture at sixteen. By twenty, she was balancing motherhood with the start of a lifelong career in ink.
Jesi specializes in custom, one-on-one sessions, focusing on fine line, botanical, and illustrative work that ages with grace. Now working alongside her daughter, she maintains a selective, high-standard approach to her craft. For Jesi, tattooing isn't an assembly line—it’s a devotion to the clients who trust her to tell their stories.

Artist
Ivy Phillips
Tattooing is in Ivy’s DNA. Having grown up in the industry, she saw the dedication required to master the craft long before she picked up a machine. After completing her apprenticeship in Omaha, Nebraska, Ivy moved to Maryland to bring her unique creative voice to The Bitter End.
Her work is defined by resilience and a constant push toward artistic evolution. Drawing inspiration from her Hawai'ian roots and her mother’s twenty-year legacy, Ivy focuses on creating meaningful, lasting artwork. She treats every chair session as a collaboration, building deep connections with clients who value custom, focused artistry.
